Samnotra elected Secy of Jammu Club

JAMMU, July 14: The Managing Committee of the Jammu Club today unanimously elected V Raman Samnotra as the new Hony Secretary of the Club for the term 2012-14.
The first meeting of the Managing Committee for the term 2012-14 was held under the chairmanship of Home Secretary B R Sharma in the absence of Vice-President of the Club, Madhav Lal, Chief Secretary.
Prior to this, the Chief Minister, who is also the president of Jammu Club, had nominated IAS officers B R Sharma, Sudhanshu Pandey, Dr Rajinder Singh and KAS officer Chandra Gupta to the Managing Committee of the Club.
The Managing Committee comprising 15 members unanimously elected Mr Samnotra as the new Hony Secretary. Mr Samnotra has been elected for the third term in a row and has served as Managing Committee member for nine terms.
Mr Samnotra, who is an Engineer by qualification and a businessman by profession, has been actively associated with the Club affairs for more than two decades. He has the distinction of securing the highest ever votes in the history of Jammu Club elections.
With the active cooperation of all the Managing Committee members, Mr Samnotra changed the ambience of Jammu Club for better during his previous terms. The launch of rooftop restaurant, continental restaurant, the renovation of squash court, construction of the most prestigious swimming pool, health club, billiard-cum-pool room and introduction of Information and Technology Services were amongst the few remarkable achievements made by the Jammu Club during the Secretarship of Mr Samnotra.
