JAMMU, Sept 11: A mega cultural event organized by Samooh Theatre was held here today.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman team Jammu, was the chief guest, while Tanveer Dar noted Theatre, TV and film actor was the guest of honor.
Urja Singh Slathia, a theatre artist and cultural activist compared the whole event.
Addressing to the guests, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said that the ethnicity and Dogra culture is known for the valor, miniature painting and literature throughout the world.
He stressed for speaking Dogri especially to the young generation, who feels hesitation in speaking their mother tongue.
Zorawar also congratulated the team Samooh for organizing such mega event and to bring the budding and senior artists on one platform.
Tanveer Dar also gave his best wishes to organizers of this event especially to Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, who is committed to promote Dogri through performing and digital way as well.
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan in his address informed the guests about the 40 years long journey of Samooh and its activities and achievements in Theatre, Culture and literature at state and national level as well.
Mohan Lal and party and Shazi Khan and group in their scintillating performances aware the audience about the various social evils through the theater mediums of Jatar and nukkad.
V.D Shreshta and Vansh Kumar presented Geetru music and dance, a popular dogri folk art form of the Duggar.
Rupali Uppal, Harshita Khajuria, Priyanka Sharma, Varsha Kumari, Anjna Padwal mesmerized the audience by presenting a colorful Dogri dance .
Among others who graced the event included Randhir Singh Raipuria, Dr Kamal Sharma and Janak Khajuria .
