Samooh Theatre stages play ‘Chitta Singh’

JAMMU, Mar 27: Samooh Theatre here today celebrated World Theatre Day 2023 with scintillating performance of comedy play ‘Chitta Singh’, written and Directed by Ravinder Sharma.
Main character in the play is Chitta Singh-a 40 year old man who could not get any employment and wherever he went the people told him that he is fit for nothing and nothing worthwhile he has learnt when he was studying.
One day, somebody tells him as he don’t know things which he has studied, it’s better go to school and get his tuition fees back.
Chitta Singh does so and meets principal of the school who was shocked because after 18 years he has come to the school thinking that he has learnt nothing.
The principal calls for an urgent meeting with all staff members and they decided to keep a re-examination for Chitta Singh and agreed that whatever answers he gives, they will prove him right.
At least the mathematics master asks him a question and informs Singh that they have decided to give him his tuition fees back and asks him if he can tell as the exact amount which they have to give.
M. Jackson was the chief guest while as Rohit Bains and Kumar A. Bharti were guests of honour.
Actors who performed in the play were Ravinder Sharma, Rajat Gupta, Hardik, Jhanvi Sharma, Deepika Singh, Ajay Tamang, Vinay Sharma and Shammi Dhammir.
Sandeep Manhas, Avinash Lakhnotra, Manik Sharma, Nitesh Verma, Hardik and Rafiq Mushtak handled the back stage work.
