POONCH, June 15: Commissioner /Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today inspected various development activities undertaken by Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and Sericulture in this border district.
The Commissioner, who arrived here today, was received by Director Agriculture Jammu, Ajay Kumar Khajuria and R. K. Wangnoo, Chief Agriculture Officer Poonch at Chandimarh.
During the tour, the Commissioner Secretary inspected the works on way from Chandimarh to Surankote.
The District Development Commissioner Poonch, Sajjad Ahmed Khan briefed Mr Samoon regarding the achievements made in agriculture sector, while he also had a detailed interaction with the progressive farmers of the area.
The Commissioner Secretary inspected apiculture unit set up under RKVY and Vegetable Demonstration Nursery developed under Horticulture Mission at Chandak.
A large number of Sarpanchs /Panchs and progressive farmers of Poonch and Mandi put forth their demands with regard to development of Agriculture, Horticulture and Sericulture sectors in the district.
The Commissioner Secretary gave patient hearing and issued on the spot instructions to the concerned HoDs for solving the genuine demands on priority basis.
