JAMMU, Oct 10: Samprati an organisation of exiled writers and poets organised a Leela Mushaira in connection with the celebration of holy Navratras in Writers Club here, today which was presided over by Prof P N Trisal with Prof R L Shant as guest of honour.
The programme was anchored by Tej Sagar. The programme started with the recitation of Shalokas in praise of Goddess Durga which was followed by tribute to late poet Maharaj Krishan Maharaj, Prof Arvind Gigoo a great scholar, poet and critic of repute who passed away recently.
The poets who recited the devotional poems included Maharaj Krishan Wafadar, A K Zadoo, Ashok Dilbar, Pitambar Razdan, Tej Sagar, Ashok Koul Rahi, B N Abilash, R L Jawahar and others.
Prof Shant in his remarks emphasised that Leela is the main component of KP tradition, ethos and faith. Prof Trisal dealt with the nine principles of writing devotional poetry.
