JAMMU, Sept 21: The organization of Kashmiri writers, Samprati, has kept the torch of literary activities high and flying and contributed to the creation of quality literature by bringing the literary geniuses together and given them with inspirational impetus.
This was stated by the noted litterateur Dr Rattan Lal Shant, while welcoming the invited poets at a colourful multi- dimensional literary program Mushaira organized by Samprati at K L Saigal Hall here today. The programme was presided over by Dr.P N Trisal while veteran English professor Dr. Amarnath Dhar was guest of honour. The proceedings of day were conducted by Dr.Roshan Saraf Roshe Roshe, in his characteristically adroit way.
The programme, which began with remembering young poet Jaikrishnn Aakash who passed away recently saw poets in three languages Kashmiri, Hindi/Urdu and English presenting their latest creations to the critical acclaim of the august audience, which included Samprati president Dr. R L Bhat, Painter Vir Sumbly, Virender Raina, Suneeta Raina, Bansi Matto, Prof H L Misri, Prof. Roshan Lal Bhat, H N Ticku among others.
Over two hours of soul filling recitations the literary fest wove a magical ambience in song and rhythm rendered in the respective languages. The poets, who recited their poems in English included Maharaj K Maharaj, Bhushan Malmohi Satish Kaul Safeer and Amar Nath Dhar. The poets who recited in Kashmiri included Kalhan Kaul, T N Vishwas,Tej Sagar,Ashok Gowhar,Vijay Wali,Brijnath Dhar Dilbar, Rajender Aagosh, Sujata Koul Sadhana, Raj Kumari Razdan, Mohini Kaul, Kusum Dhar , Kundan Paaras, Somnath Sanam and Dr.Roshan Saraf Roshe.
Dr.R L Shant And Shyam Bihari, Kundan Paaras, Virender Rawal, Omkar Rana and Satish Kaul Safeer recited In Hindi/Urdu. The vote of thanks was proposed by Kundan Paaras, secretary Samprati.
