JAMMU, Sept 29: Social activist and Convener Sangarsh RTI Movement Balvinder Singh urged the Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) to immediately take up the renovation work of the Raja Jambo Lochan’s Pratima Sathal.
Addressing a press conference, Singh stated that though the park lies exactly in front of the power corridors of the State but park is in a very dilapidated condition.
“This small but significant symbolic representation of Jammu has been well portrayed by the sculptor on the slope of a hill but one cannot even see the pictures of the Dogras in traditional dress, the royal palaces, Dogra soldiers, the Raja’s holding Darbar, having elephant ride and typical palanquin bearer in Dogri costumes presenting the cultural aspect of Duggar carved on the walls of the park from both sides because of the long size grass grown there”, he stated.
Singh further said that even the statue of King Jambo Lochan and that of the lion and Goat drinking water from the same stream are also covered with grass all over. The fountain and the stream in the middle of park are also in deplorable condition, he added.
Among others present were Lalit Kumar, social activist, Jasbir Singh Parwana, Jitender Singh, Vice Chairman, Cantonment Board Jammu, Hardev Singh, Member Cantonment Board Jammu,  Tarvinder Singh, Subedar Mohinder Singh, etc.
