JAMMU, May 31: Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) today ordered posting and promotion of two Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers who have served in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the order, Sangeeta Gupta, who was recently promoted as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax has been posted as CCIT-8 in Delhi, a prestigious company circle. Till now, she was acting as CCIT (OSD) J&K.
During her posting as Principal Commissioner of Income Tax J&K Circle Sangeeta Gupta initiated a number of steps which helped in widening of tax base in the State as well as collection of record tax.
Meanwhile, CBDT has ordered promotion of Rakesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax at Delhi as Additional Commissioner of Income Tax. An IRS officer of 2004 batch, Rakesh Kumar belongs to Jammu and has held important posts in J&K prior to his transfer to Delhi in 2014.
