The abrogation of the controversial article giving special status to the State was the main agenda of the Sangh which it has been opposing tooth and nail since the day the controversial articles were incorporated in the Indian Constitution.
Terming the 370 and 35 A of Indian Constitution a great discrimination with the people of the State, the speakers in the meeting said that the controversial Articles were incorporated in the Constitution by the Kashmir centric leaders and their sympathisers at Delhi, sources said.
These Articles gave nothing to the State but deprived its people of all welfare measures as well as developmental schemes and except some political families and their relatives 90 percent people of the State suffered over the years on account of these controversial Articles, sources added.
During the inaugural session, the Sangh leaders stressed Swayamsevaks to launch an awareness campaign (Jan Jagran Abhiyan) and apprise the people of the benefits of abrogation of Article 370 which was the base of their miseries and which was the root cause of secessionist movement in the State. The RSS leaders made it clear that there would have been no separatist movement and terrorism in the State, had the Articles 370 and 35 A not been incorporated in the Indian Constitution, sources added.
Maintaining it was a long standing issue, the RSS gave all credit to the Narendra Modi led Government for its abrogation and freeing people of the State from its clutches, sources said. The Sangh also gave kudos to Union Government for taking extra security measures for the safety of the common masses in the State in the aftermath of the abrogation of controversial articles.
Maintaining that Statehood to J&K has been lost, the RSS however, allayed the fears of the people saying that it would be restored in due course of time and the leaders arrested for precautionary measures will also be released.
The meeting, while discussing the security scenario of the State said the people are happy as no loss of life was reported from anywhere in the aftermath of the reorganisation of the State.
The decisions taken in the national meet at Pushkar Rajasthan were also threadbare discussed in the meeting, sources said.
