Members of the Sangharsh Samiti held a crucial meeting today at Shalimar Garden, Katra to discuss the further strategy over the contentious ropeway project.
The participants, including Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, reiterated their demand for shelving the project. Members of the committee said that they were hopeful for a positive resolution during the scheduled meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, tomorrow.
“We are optimistic about a favorable outcome. However, if the administration does not meet our demand to shelve the ropeway project, we will observe a three-day bandh in Katra starting from December 25,” members announced.
The Sangharsh Samiti has been actively opposing the project, citing potential negative impacts on the pilgrimage and the local economy.
