Sanjeevani Shardha Kendra pays tributes to martyrs of 1947-48

JAMMU, Feb 3: In an impressive and well attended function, Sanjeevani Shardha Kendra paid floral tributes to the martyrs of 1947-48, who sacrificed their lives during ‘Kabali’ raid in North Kashmir.
Dr Nirmal Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister and Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Jaswant Singh, Director Animal Husbandry Department and President Rashtriya Sikh Sangat J&K was the special invitee and Anil Bhat, Bureau Chief, PTI was the main speaker.
While paying rich tributes to the martyrs, Dr Nirmal Singh urged the audience to strengthen the nationalist forces in order to defeat the nefarious designs of the fundamentalists, who are hell-bent upon to divide the country.
He said that a sea change can be observed in thinking of the people of the Country with regard to acceptance of ‘Hindutva’, adding that the time was ripe to teach anti-national forces a lesson.
Lavishing praise on the organisers for holding such tributary functions, Dr Singh said that such programmes inculcate sense of belongingness in everybody’s mind.
Senior Journalist Anil Bhat and social activist Navneet Kour while throwing light on the various massacres, the Kashmiri Pandit Community had to pass through, said that they salute the spirit of those Pandits who served as beacon lights to guide and goad the community even in the grim atmosphere of banishment.
They termed the act of ‘Kabalis’ and other anti-national forces, not only gruesome, brutal or barbaric, but satanic too.
Dr Jaswant Singh spoke at length on the atrocities being faced by the Kashmiri Pandit and Sikh Community in the State from time to time. He appealed both the communities to be united to defeat the sinister designs of the separatists.
Dwarika Nath Ji, Secretary Sanjeevani Shardha Kendra also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the programmes and policies of the Kendra since its inception in 1995.
The proceedings of the function were conducted by Dr Bharti.
