REASI, Mar 28: Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust organised Art camp for the students at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi and Higher Secondary School Salal in district Reasi.
The Art camp was organised in collaboration with the NHPC Salal. The three- day art workshop was inaugurated by the General Manager NHPC, A G Ansari the other day. The concluding function was held last evening which was attended by noted artists Anuradha Rishi, chairperson of the Trust, Reecha Gupta from Jammu and Vijay Kumar from Delhi.
About 100 children from three schools attended the Art camp. The children were imparted training in enhancing their artistic skills by these artists of national repute. The artists took initiative to train the students of this rural belt and teach them painting and other artistic skills. They were also imparted training in ‘Rangoli’ art.
Mrs Rishi said that the aim of the project was to inculcate the skills among the rural children and develop taste of art among the youth and broaden their mental capabilities beyond school curriculum.
Several students who emerged as winners were also given awards by the organizers. Mr Ansari and Anuradha Rishi chairperson of the trust gave away the prizes. Mr Ansari lauded the initiative of the Trust and asked the members to hold such camps in the other areas of the State.
