JAMMU, Feb 26: A delegation of Sanskrit scholars and others met BJP MLAs Dr Nirmal Singh and R S Pathania, here today.
The delegation put forwards various issues and problem associated with Sanskrit language in Jammu and Kashmir jurisdiction and demanded due share of Sanskrit Scholars in employment opportunity.
“Sanskrit language is losing its roots in State due to official apathy of State Government. Majority of Sanskrit learned scholars do not get employment in State due to official apathy and they are not even invited for interviews for post of teachers giving reason that what education they would give to students,” the scholars explained and demanded quota for them as teacher in universities, schools and colleges.
They also informed that the scholars of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University) Kot Bhalwal perusing various Sanskrit courses and research field in Sanskrit language were being derecognized by the State Govt even as all courses of the university are affiliated by MHRD and wholly funded by Center.
The MLAs assured the delegation that they will put their demands before State and Central Government and also take this issue before HRD Minister, Smriti Irani.
The delegation comprised of Rohit Shastri, Pt Ram Pal Shastri, Ganesh Shastri, Sunil Dutt ( Raka ) Sharma and others.
