Sanskrit Teaching Centre inaugurated in JU

JAMMU, Sept 2: A Sanskrit Teaching Centre was inaugurated today at PG Department of Sanskrit in Jammu University.
Started by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Deemed University, New Delhi, the Centre will run three-month Sanskrit language course.
Amidst Saraswati Vandana and Vedic hymns, the Centre was formally inaugurated by Prof Neelam Saraf, Dean Academic Affairs, JU in presence of Sanskrit scholars and others.
She advised the students to take advantage of the centre to learn Sanskrit language for enhancing their knowledge.
Prof Vishwamurti Sharma, who was guest of honour on the occasion, stressed that people must have the knowledge of Sanskrit language and one should feel proud in speaking Sanskrit, which is mother of all Indian languages. Sanskrit is the oldest language in world and it represents India’s civilization, he added
Earlier HoD Sanskrit Dr Sushma Devi highlighted importance of Sanskrit language.
The programme was organized by Dr Pratiba and vote of thanks was presented by Dr Ram Bahadur Shukla. All the students and scholars of Sanskrit Department were present on the occasion.
Vidyadhar Singh, chief organizer of the Centre and Mohinder Kumar, who will teach the students for three-month course, were also present in the inaugural ceremony.
