JAMMU, Sept 5: Celebrations in connection with the Sanskrit Week at Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranbir Campus Jammu, concluded today on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
On the occasion of valedictory function, special guest Purshottam Lal Dubey said that Sanskrit is the language of culture and values. Guest Ved Prakash said that various programs should be organized in schools to promote Sanskrit language throughout the year.
Saraswat guest, Prof Kailash Chandra Dash said that Sanskrit is the oldest language of the world and the only medium to connect the students with their culture and make them proud of their culture.
In his presidential speech, Campus Director, Prof Madan Mohan Jha said that India is a confluence of different languages, in which Sanskrit is the mother of all languages. “At present, the relevance of Sanskrit has increased not only in the country but also abroad. Sanskrit language is considered important in competitive examinations. It is an ancient language along with employment generation.
On this occasion, the Coordinator of the Sanskrit Week program, Dr Rajkumar Mishra, presented the report of Sanskrit Week. He said that during the Sanskrit Week, Sanskrit Chaupal, Vethi Drama and Sanskrit Exhibition, Sanskrit Shobha Yatra, Gurukul Sandarshan along with Sanskrit songs, shlokas, well-spoken recitations, and essays were organized for enhancing the knowledge of the students in various Government schools of Jammu. Quiz and Speech Contests, Painting and Rangoli competitions were organized throughout the week. Prizes were given to the winners of various competitions. Eminent scholars of Jammu & Kashmir were honored on this occasion.
The professors of the campus were also honored by the students of Shiksha – Shastri Department. The program began with an invocation by Dr Praveen Kumar. The guests were duly honored by Dr Tejnath Poudel.
Dr Gopal Verma, Dr Yogendra Dixit, Dr Praveen Kumar, Kamal Kishore, Pradeep Mishra, Dr Anayamani Tripathi, Dr Pawan Kumar Singh, Dr Sujit Kumar Pandey, Dr Shibashish, Dr Madan Singh, Dr Rekha Mishra and Dr Prakash Chandra Yadav were present during the valedictory function. Dr Rajkumar Mishra, the Coordinator of the program delivered the vote of thanks. The program was conducted by Dr Sarvesh Tripathi.
