JAMMU, Dec 19: Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana Jammu, organized an extension Lecture on the topic “National Education Policy 2020 – An Overview” today in the college premises. The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Charanjeet Kour, setting the tone for the informative session.
Dr. Anuradha Goswami, Assistant Professor at the Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu, was the resource person for the lecture. She provided a comprehensive overview of the National Education Policy 2020, describing it as a progressive and futuristic document that aims to transform Indian education.
Dr. Goswami highlighted the policy’s focus on inclusivity, holistic development and a multidisciplinary approach, stressing its role in removing rigid boundaries and offering students the flexibility to choose subjects according to their interests. She also discussed key initiatives of NEP 2020 that could increase the employability of the emerging workforce across various education levels.
The lecture was presided over by Dr. Kiran Luthra, Principal of the College, who emphasized the importance of such programs in creating an effective platform for exchanging ideas and enhancing the academic atmosphere of the institution. The session was well-received by both the students and staff, fostering insightful discussions on the future of education in India.
