JAMMU, Oct 9: In an effort to further promote cultural heritage and encourage local artists, the Tourism Department in collaboration with SAPTAK, an association of music artists, organized a grand Bhajan Sandhya at Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex Jammu.
Director Tourism, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma was the chief while Joint Director Tourism, Shiv Kumar Gupta was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Soujanya Sharma said that the Tourism Department is working hard to promote such cultural activities in the region to boost tourism industry besides helping preservation of our rich cultural heritage. He said that similar programmes are also being organized by the department in Katra on the auspious occasion Navratra festival.
The Director said that strenuous efforts are being made to exhibit Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex as symbol of great Dogra culture of the State by holding such programmes, based on regional culture and traditions, in the complex.
Earlier, the Director Tourism accompanied by Joint Director and functionaries of SAPTAK including Kamal Sharma, Praduman Singh and Ravi Sharma.
The artists who performed in this mega cultural bonanza including Jitendra Kour, Anita Sharma, Krishana Kumari, Upma Sharma, Asha Kesar, Neelam Langeh, Indu Bala, Praduman Singh, Sham Sagar, Jeevan Sharma, Rakesh Singh Slathia, Nirbhay Singh Slathia, Surinder Manhas, Vishal Gupta, Subash Langeh and instrumentalists Ravi Sharma, Brijmohan, Kamal Sharma, Vijay Anand, Vikas Nagar, Jagmeet Singh and Amar Singh etc.
