Saraf appeals Guv to fulfill demands of SSA teachers

REASI, Sept 13: Senior leader Saraf Singh Nag has urged upon the Governor to fulfill the genuine demands of the SSA teachers, who are on protest since a long time.
Saraf, who contested Assembly Elections in 2014 as independent candidate from Reasi constituency, today visited the striking teachers and said it is very unfortunate that the teachers who are considered as the nation builders are observing hunger strike for their demands.
“Due to the indifferent attitude of the Government, the demands of teachers has been ignored by the previous ministers and they are observing hunger strike since long, due to which the career of thousands of students are on stake”, he said
He said that the literacy rate has been increased too much from 2000 to 2018, as these teachers has done marvelous job in this regard. But when it comes to release their pay and other benefits, the Government always refuses to extend them such benefits and forced them to observe strike.
Sarag appealed the Government to release their salaries with the benefits of 7th Pay Commission, so that they can rejoin their duties and the students can also restart their studies. He also urged upon the Governor to intervene in this case, as many schools has been closed to the strike of SSA teachers.
Among others who visited along with the Saraf include Darshan Sharam, Chander Mohan Singh, Ghulam Nabi Chowdhary, Sujan Singh, Mohd Shabir, Pyar Singh Wazir, Som Raj Sharma, Shamlal Bhagat, Makhan Singh and Kuldeep Singh.
