Sardana would be remembered for his eloquence and politeness

Sir,
In this second wave of covid surge we have lost lot of precious lives of people across the country. Due to mutant variants of covid virus the rate of infection is very horrific and fast as compared to its earlier spread. Now, the people are suffering from the scarcity of these life saving equipments in our hospitals due to the increasing demand of these medical equipments.A bad news that shook the entire media world was the sudden death of famous news anchor, Rohit Sardana. He was a famous news anchor from Aaj Tak news channel. Earlier, he was the famous news reader of an another channel Zee News .His popular news shows ‘Taal Thok Ke’ on Zee News and Dangal on Aaj Tak were very famous among the people. Those news shows were famous because Rohit Sardana usually raised the relevant questions in that shows without any fear and favour.
No doubt Rohit Sardana was famous in such kind of shows due to his eloquence, politeness and straightforward ness.Even the guests had to do a lot of homework to participate in such debate shows. Rohit Sardana got a cardiac arrest during his Covid infected period. We can’t say that he died due to scarcity of any kind of medical assistance.Because his treatment was going on in a good hospital and expert doctors were monitoring him.But his death has left a deep impact on every person and people who know him. There is no doubt that we are losing people everyday due to this covid pandemic. But some people who are associated with everyone in the society leave a great impact in the minds of people after their departure. Many eminent personalities tweeted about Rohit Sardana’s death and paid their condolences.Even the President, Prime Minister and other political leaders of the country expressed their condolences .Prime Minister Narinder Modi has asserted that a void has been created due to untimely demise of this young man. When the news anchor who worked with him read the news of his death,it was a heart warming moment for everyone. The early departure of such kind of talented people from the world is really a great setback for the society and country. He will always be a source of inspiration for new people in this field.Achieving such a height in his short time will be an inspiration for the media world.

Sir,
Apropos Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta’s article on AIIMS Vijaypur, Jammu dated 02-05-2021 appeared in your esteemed paper, the people of Jammu province have been discriminated against in all spheres of development especially health care and the process continues . Tertiary health care institute in form of SKIMS was set up in Srinagar in 1984. Central Govt under Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee , approved AIIMS for Jammu whose foundation stone was laid by Late Smt Sushma Swaraj at Chest Diseases Hospital Jammu in year 2000 but the institute never saw the light of the day and poor people of Jammu province sufferred for want of superspeciality tertiary care.
The people of Jammu province had to come to streets when, then Chief Minister , shifted the only sanctioned AIIMS to his constituency Awantipura Kashmir knowing fully that at Srinagar already a full fledged Tertiary care SKIMS Institute is functioning. Union Govt was forced to sanction AIIMS for Jammu Province which is coming up at Vijaypur.
Kashmir province has state of art very well coceptulised architecturally constructed (building having anti earthquake measures) with very high quality material and fully loaded with quality equipment tertiary care institute SKIMS with incorporated provisions of expansion .It has Maternity hospital attached to it. It has also Govt Medical College at Bemina (SKIMS Medical College previously known as Jhelum Valley Medical College).
State’s oldest Government Medical College Srinagar with Associated separate Bones and Joint Hospital at Burzullah and Superspeciality hospital Shireenbagh, Lalded Maternity Hospital , 500 bedded Children hospital with paediatric superspecialities at Bemina besides G.B Pant Children hospital at Badamibagh.
In Jammu province we have one Government Medical College with Associated hospitals including Superspeciality hospital at Resham Ghar, which caters to people from Banihal to Lakhanpur & Pathankot, Padder to Poonch.
In the article the Executive Director Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta mentions the bed strength for the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) as sixteen (16) Let me put it on record that when SKIMS Soura Srinagar was conceptualised in late nineteen seventies and commissioned in early eightees the Bed strength for Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery was forty (40), the question is have our planners gone retrograde? In AIIMS New Delhi, Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery caters to patient requiring Cardiac Surgery only but in our Union Territory the department of CTVS cater to not only patients of Cardiac Surgery but large chunk requiring Thoracic (Chest) Surgeries and also Vascular Surgeries. So, sixteen beds for Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) are too small a number and not justified for the population AIIMS Vijaypur shall cater to.
