Saroori seeks 80% jobs for local youth in power projects

KISHTWAR, Dec 5: Expressing serious concern over the issue of growing problem of  unemployment in Kishtwar and Doda districts, former Minister  and MLA Inderwal,  Ghulam Mohd Saroori today said that local youth be given preference in the Pakal Dul and Rattle Hydel Power Projects by the concerned agencies engaged by the Government.
Addressing one-day awareness programme organised by employees of various departments at Thathri today, Mr Saroori said that problem of unemployment has reached alarming proportion. He said in Kishtwar and Doda also the educated youth are unable to get job opportunities. He warned the GVK/ L&T and other agencies engaged in the   hydel power projects  Rattle and Pakal Dul to give preference to the  local youth of the area. Mr Saroori claimed that if the 80 % share is not provided to the local youth by these companies, he will resort to agitation along with thousands of locals.
The Congress leader also asked the local youth to take full benefit of the Centrally sponsored schemes. He also stressed for promotion of entrepreneurship. He asked them to avail benefits of  the schemes like NDMC and other plans being implemented by JKED. Mr Saroori claimed that Central Govt led by Dr Manmohan Singh was providing huge funds to J&K for many new schemes. He said with the opening of new degree colleges, polytechnics and ITIs, the youth of the area have been highly benefitted. Under the Prime Minister’s package the State has been seen massive development.
DC Doda, Mubarak Singh gave detailed account of various employment schemes  run by J&K Government. Dy Director Employment Doda Shahida Begum highlighted the importance of organizing such programmes.  A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion.
