KISHTWAR, July 5: Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Vice Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), met with several deputations to address their grievances.
During the meeting, Saroori emphasized the urgent need for the Government to conduct the overdue census, which was supposed to be completed in 2021. He pointed out that the lack of a recent census has left several families without essential ration cards and job cards.
Saroori expressed concern over the last 13 years of Government inaction, which has failed to provide justice to the young generation. He stressed that without the updated census, many eligible young individuals have been unable to benefit from government schemes.
DPAP leader mentioned specific programs like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and ration provisions from the Consumer Affairs, Public Distribution (CAPD) Department, which are crucial for the livelihood of many.
He asserted, “With the census, lakhs of young people who fall under the criteria will be able to benefit from several Government-launched schemes.”
Saroori’s call for action is rooted in the belief that updated demographic data will ensure that Government resources and benefits reach those in need.
He urged the Government to take concrete steps to address the issues faced by the people, particularly the youth. He highlighted the importance of a proactive approach in resolving these matters to ensure equitable access to Government schemes and resources for all eligible citizens.
