Sarpanch arrested, sent to 5 days police remand

KATHUA, Sept 9: The Kathua police today arrested Sarpanch of Panchayat Chak Desa, Dilip Kumar who was absconding to evade arrest for last fortnight after thrashing a SO of Block Development Office Kathua and snatching records from him.
Since then the employees of block and other blocks of the district were on total strike. The Sarpanch had gone into hiding. However Kathua Police on a tip off along with Lakhanpur Police today raided Sajjanpur in Pathankote and nabbed the Sarpanch from rickshaw on bridge number 4 in the area. He was trying to flee from Sujjanpur also to evade the police eye.
He has been sent to five days Police remand and lodged in Police Station Kathua.
