MENDHAR, June 19: Sarpanchs and Panchs having affiliation with the National Conference who were sitting on hunger strike called off their agitation on the third day today.
Assistant Commission Revenue Incharge SDM Mendhar Shafiq Ahmed SDPO and Tehsildar today talked to the agitating people in presence of MLA Javed Rana and assured to resolve their issues within one week. On the assurance of the Administration, they called off their protest programme. They were demanding repair of roads and lanes, releasing payments of NREGA workers, improve water and power supply position and remove congestion in Bus Stand area and main bazaar besides proper cleanliness in the Mendhar town.
