Sarpanchs’ deputation meets SDM

KATHUA, May 7: A deputation of Sarpanchs and Panchs met the SDM Billawar Vikas Gupta today and apprised him of the issues related to health and poor ration supply in the area.
The Sarpanchs during the meeting with the SDM apprised him that at Billawar hospital most of the Medical staff is not available. The doctors remain absent from duty and even at the time of some accident, hardly any para-medical staff is available. Several posts are also lying vacant and were not filled up since long.
They demanded that action be taken against the Medical staff which has become habitual of remaining absent.
They further demanded that a Trauma hospital be set up at Ramkote as there was no such hospital on entire Dhar Road from Lakhanpur to Udhampur.
The Panchayat members also pointed out that in many areas ration supply was not provided adequately and timely. Sugar is hardly available at Government depots and more wheat and atta is not being provided timely. There was need to monitor ration supply in the entire Billawar sub-division, they added.
