KATHUA, Feb 2: The Panchs and Sarpanchs from Kathua and Barnoti bocks today held protest demonstration outside the office of Block Development Office here today.
Over a score of Sarpanchs, assisted by some Panchs today assembled outside the office of BDO Kathua and held protest demonstration. They were raising slogans against the BDO and other officers alleging that Sarpanchs are not taken into confidence in any development related works or making plans by the Block officials. They alleged that on many occasions only MLA/ MLCs are consulted by the RDD officers while the Sarpanchs and other Panchs are ignored.
After staging protest outside the office for sometime the agitating Sarpanchs then moved inside where the BDO assured them to look into their demands and assured that while finalizing plans for their respective Panchayat Halqas, they will also be consulted.
