Saryara Community demands political reservation

JAMMU, Mar 13: Saryara Community, one among the thirteen identified sub-groups of scheduled castes community today urged PDP-BJP coalition Government to provide political reservation for the community members.
Addressing a press conference, Vivek Patyal, president Maha Kali Mandi Shopkeepers Association and senior community leader said that despite of their population in lakhs the community has not so far been given representation in Legislative Assembly or Council by any party.
“Well educated boys and girls of the community are still hankering for jobs as they do not have the political support behind them”, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharda Devi, a prominent social workers and senior leader of community urged the State Government to settle the grievance of Saryara Community by providing political reservation to Upper House in State Legislative.
The Saryara Community also demanded reservation benefits in jobs and professional courses and also sought a special economic and employment package for the community members.
Satish Kumar was also presented during the press conference.
