Sastra University releases B Tech rank list for admissions

JAMMU, June 17: The rank list for admission to various B. Tech. programmes of Sastra Deemed University was released here today.
Realising the list, Dr. S. Vaidhyasubramaniam, Vice Chancellor of SASTRA University in his address said, “The transparent & merit based admission system of our university has won the appreciation of parents and we are looking forward to the students joining the university during the 2nd week of August 2024.”
“Sastra is the only deemed university, using the JEE-Main Scores and +2 aggregate together for admission without conducting its own entrance exams. Students from Jammu and Kashmir and North-Eastern States joining the university shall be offered 100% scholarship with free boarding and lodging,” he added.
In Stream 1 (50% of seats based on JEE Main and class 12 marks), Shyam Sukesh from Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Prakasam district, Telangana, secured the top rank with a combined score of 99.0885 with a +2 aggregate of 992 out of 1,000 and JEE Main score of 98.9769, followed by G. Sandeep from Zakir Hussain Intermediate College, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, with a combined score of 98.9698.
In Stream 2 (based on class 12 aggregate scores), K.S. Gopika from REC GHSS, Chathamangalam, Kozhikode, Kerala, secured the first rank with an aggregate of 99.6667 in the qualifying Class XII examinations, and Palaronith from Valley Yak Junior College, Warangal, secured the second rank with an aggregate score of 99.5.

The online counselling for admissions began on June 15 with submission of choices followed by allotment.
About 40,000 students from various States like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Bihar, Rajasthan, Assam, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, etc. participated in the admission process.
