JAMMU, July 3: In order to take stock of losses caused by the heavy rains in Wazir Lane area of Talab Tillo, former Minister and Ex MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) visited rain affected areas and listened to the grievances of the people. Due to heavy rainfall a wall of Wazir Lane Nullah was broken and the water logged into the houses of locals which created a chaotic situation for many inhabitants.
He was accompanied by JMC corporators, Sanjay Baru and Sucha Singh, BJP leader, K L Sharma, officials of JMC, local residents, political and social activists of the area. Sharma listened to the problems faced by the people and a memorandum listing their problems was also handed over to the former Minister by the residents of the area.
Sharma said that he immediately asked the administration of JMC as well to start the cleaning works of nullahs, deep drains and lanes in order to ensure that the life of people is restored back to normal. He asked the officials of the UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) to immediately lift the garbage from the Nullah and also take up the construction works of the in order to provide a better infrastructure to the public. Sharma stated that he has also asked the concerned departments to take up the same works in other areas of Jammu West as well which were affected due to rains.
Sanjay Baru and Sucha Singh said that the works for cleaning are in progress and he stated that under the leadership of former MLA, all deep drains were channelized including the main Krishna Nagar to Canal road deep drain. They also stated that necessary steps are being taken to control the damage caused by rains.
