JAMMU, Dec 17: Fulfiling long pending demand of residents of Ward No. 26, former Minister, Sat Sharma (CA) today along with Corporator of Ward Hardeep Mankotia inaugurated series of developmental works at various places in the Ward of Jammu West Assembly Constituency.
Sharma was accompanied by officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation, (JMC), local residents, social and political activists of the area. The works taken up included construction of Retaining Wall below Indra Chowk cost of which is Rs 5.11 lakh, construction of lane near Maha Kali Mandir in Friends Sector the cost of which is Rs 1.06 lakh and repair of drain in Lane No. 14 cost of which is 0.96 lakh. The total cost of these works is Rs 7.13 lakh, the BJP leader said.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma said that all necessary steps are being taken up for the development of Jammu West Assembly Constituency which included well maintained roads, lanes and drains. Sharma asked Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials to take up pending works in the left over areas in hand. He said that majority of works have already been sanctioned during his tenure as MLA which will be taken up in near future.
Speaking on the occasion, Corporator, Hardeep Mankotia expressed his satisfaction over the initiatives taken by former Minister and expressed gratitude for looking into the grievances of the public. He also appealed the masses to keep their locality and surroundings clean and green and promote Swachh Bharat mission.
