JAMMU, Dec 1: BJP State president & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A), along with MLC Sofi Yousuf and other party leaders inaugurated a showroom under the name & style of “Shah & Sons” having Pashmina shawls, suits, sarees and other handicraft items of aari, kaani and sozni embroidery of Kashmir.
Sat Sharma, while congratulating the proprietor of the show room, said that it is a matter of pride that instead of waiting for Government job and sitting idle at home, the youth has come forward to start his own mean of livelihood besides providing employment to 8 other unemployed youth.
He said that every educated youth wants a Government job but it is also true that every one cannot be absorbed in Government service and options of self employment should be explored by the youth themselves . The facility of financial help to start own work should be availed from banks and other financial institutions. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a number of ‘Skill Development’ schemes for the youth with a motive of making them self dependent and the youth should take benefits of the same.
Sharma said that the showroom is unique in many ways. It has centuries old shawls of Maharaja Hari Singh’s period as well as antique items of those times in its store. “It is also going to be a centre of information to make people of Jammu familiar with the rich culture and traditions of the Kashmir”, Sat said and added that the items in the showroom displayed for sale are indeed master work and extraordinary.
MLC Sofi Yousuf, on this occasion, said that the Kashmiri shawls in particular are in great demand due to their quality and the embroidery work and the same is available at ‘Shah & Sons’.
Harinder Gupta, Vikram Randhawa, Balbir Ram Rattan, , Pardeep Sharma, Baldev Singh, Indu Bhushan, Tarseem Choudhary, P.N. Pandita, Manzoor Ahmed Kuka, Imtiaz Ahmed, Mudassir Ahmed were present on the occasion.
