JAMMU, Mar 1: Former State president BJP and former Minister, Sat Sharma (CA) today started various development works in Ward No. 12. Sharma was accompanied by chairman, SJC JMC, Jeet Angral, local residents and social and political activists of the area.
The development works started by him include construction of lane and drain at Lane No. 6 at an estimated cost of Rs 8.50 lakh and construction of lane and drain at Jewel Chowk near Arjun Hotel at an estimated cost of Rs 1.65 Lakh. The works will be executed under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
Addressing the gathering, Sharma mentioned that with construction of this lane and drain in the area, the people will get respite from the problems being faced by them, particularly in the rainy season. He said that the Central Government is committed to provide basic amenities including proper road infrastructure, adequate water and power supply to people of the State and is working in this direction with utmost devotion.
The Former Minister directed the concerned authorities of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to complete the work within stipulated time frame so that the people are relieved from the problem.
Jeet Angral on the occasion said that several schemes have been launched and completed in the area to provide better amenities to people including installation of poles and wires, laying of water pipes by PHE to provide clean drinking water, upgradation of main roads and construction of lanes and drains. He asked locals to identify developmental needs of their respective areas so that the works can be enlisted for execution on priority basis.
Surjit Singh Chib, Shiv Charan Sharma, Varinder Dogra, Arjun Gupta, Anil Angral, Tarun, Ravi Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Amar Pal, Raghu and many others were present on the occasion.
