JAMMU, Jan 15: Former Minister and senior BJP leader, Sat Sharma (CA) today kickstarted works for upgradation of lane and drain at Janipur Colony near Gurudwara in Ward No. 37 of Jammu West Assembly Constituency. Sharma was accompanied by Corporator Ward No. 37, Sunita Gupta, State secretary, BJP Praduman Singh, district president, BJP Ayodhya Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials, local residents, social and political activists of the area.
The estimated cost of works is Rs 12.72 lakh which includes upgradation of lane by paver tiles and construction of portion of drain. The works will be executed under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that with the upgradation of this lane and drain, the people will get respite from the problems being faced by them, particularly in the rainy season. He said that Jammu West is developing at a fast pace and soon it will become a Model Constituency. Sharma also mentioned that development works across Jammu West Constituency are in full swing and will cover every nook and corner.
Corporator, Sunita Gupta said that Government has launched several development works to improve the overall condition of lanes and drains. She urged locals to identify developmental works of their respective areas so that the works can be enlisted for execution by the Government on top priority.
Ayodhya Gupta on the occasion said that massive development activities have been launched in Jammu West Constituency to ensure adequate water supply, better sewerage, lanes, drains and hygienic surroundings. Gupta said that under no circumstances the pace of development would be allowed to slow down in Jammu West Constituency.
