
BJP pays tribute to Kotwal, Chandrakant

JAMMU, Apr 9: BJP led by its senior leaders paid floral tribute to party ideologue Daya Krishan Kotwal and martyr Chandrakant Sharma.
Main tribute programme in this regard at party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, here organized by BJP district Jammu South led by its president, Naresh Singh.
Sat Sharma, president, J&K BJP accompanied by Ashok Koul, general secretary (Org), Vibodh Gupta, general secretary, Priya Sethi, National Executive Member, Ashwani Sharma, former MLA paid tribute to former leaders.
Sat Sharma, while paying respects to them, said that the Daya Krishan Kotwal was a hardcore social activist who served the society, while the terrorism was at its peak. He said that he believed in unity and advised all to be united. “Kotwal worked firmly to strengthen and save the society and the whole region in troubled times”.
While paying respects to Shaheed Chandrakant Sharma, he recalled his commitment in leading from the front, while braving the threats from the terrorists. Following the path of these great men, he appealed to the society to be united against terrorism and never let the plans of anti-nationals be fulfilled.
On the occasion, he also remembered the supreme sacrifice made by the Parihar brothers.
Ashok Koul, while paying floral tribute, said that due to his boldness, D K Kotwal was popularly known as the Sher-e-Doda. He said that Kotwal served in various capacities in RSS and as the president of BJP. He remembered former BJP president’s role in preventing migration and maintaining communal harmony.
Koul said that Shaheed Chandrakant Sharma was an energetic activist, who was very helpful to the masses and played his part in helping to contain terrorism. He was a dedicated RSS activist committed to the nation. He attained martyrdom in a targeted terrorist attack on him in the premises of District Hospital Kishtwar, while discharging his duties due to his ‘nation first policy’.
Ashwani Sharma asked the party activists to take lessons of sacrifice, and commitment from the lives of Daya Krishan Kotwal and Chandrakant Sharma, who selflessly served the nation, and the society.
Naresh Singh conducted the proceedings of the tribute programme.
Veenu Khanna, Ayodhya Gupta, Rakesh Mahajan, Munish Sharma, Balbir Ram Rattan, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Sanjita Dogra, Sunil Prajapati, Pawan Sharma, Kulbhushan Mohtra, Sanjay Baru, Parduman Singh, Prerna Nanda, and others paid tribute in the party Headquarters.
Meanwhile, floral tribute were paid to these leaders at the party office Kachi Chawni, in a programme organized by District Jammu led by its president Rajesh Gupta.
Tribute were also paid by the BJP’s Kashmir Displaced District led by its president, Rajeev Pandita.
