JAMMU, July 9: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) today handed over a TVS Wego scooty to a differently abled person from Jammu West Assembly segment.
The amount for the two wheeler was given by former MLA through his CDF (Constituency Development Fund) scheme during his tenure and funds were sanctioned some time back. Though Social Welfare Department approached the beneficiary but he decided to take scooty from hands of former MLA. The beneficiary, namely Sunil Kumar, hails from Ward 25, Rehari Colony.
Sat Sharma handed over the two wheeler in the presence of a number of people, including District President BJP Ayodhya Gupta, Corporator and Chairman SJC Jeet Angral, Corporator Ward 9 Suneet Raina Shree and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was our duty to help such people as they are also part of the society. He said that a two wheeler was given so that the beneficiary can commute anywhere freely without the help of others.
He also appreciated the efforts of Social Welfare Department and stated that there are certain schemes of department under which disabled persons are provided with relief. “Thousands of people hailing from Jammu West have already been provided with benefits of various schemes of Social Welfare, including widow pension, old age pension, pension for disabled, marriage assistance scheme for girls and many more and it will be also seen in the coming days that the persons who are left, are located in the constituency and every possible help may be provided to them through various schemes,” he added.
Vijay Sharma, Munish Khajuria, Sanjeev Sharma, Urvashi Gupta, Deepak Kumar, Onkar Singh Bose, Inderjeet Sawhney, Sudesh Kumari, Vikas Bali, Anil Angral, Ramesh Kumar, Rajan Bhan, Mangal Singh Kuttu, Sanjeev Vohra, Kuldeep Mahajan and several others were present on the occasion.
