JAMMU, Oct 3: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) started construction works of lane at Subash Nagar area of Ward 26. Sharma was accompanied by a large number of people including Corporator Ward 26, Hardeep Singh Mankotia, district president BJP Ayodhya Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works are being executed under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of Rupees 3.70 lakh and the funds were sanctioned from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of former MLA which was sanctioned during his tenure but the work was delayed due to Code of Conduct of elections and other reasons. However the work was taken up as soon as the process got cleared.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the main concern in Ward 26 was decades old water pipes and sewerage system which was totally replaced during his tenure as MLA. He said hundreds of crores of rupees were spent and the works were executed under the supervision of Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) in all 26 wards of Jammu West Assembly segment and this work solved many problems of locals. He stated that now houses in the constituency including Ward 26 have clean drinking water and a channelized sewerage system which was a problem earlier for more than 30 years. This has also improved sanitation system in the area and has also contributed in promoting “Swachh Bharat” vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, he added.
Hardeep Singh Mankotia complimented the former MLA for his pro active approach and stated that Ward 26 has been equipped with all modern infra and stated that Jammu West has been developed to its fullest and pending works will also be taken in some time to avoid public distress. The pace of development in Jammu West shows that constituency progressed a lot in last five years and has reached to the mark of a Model Constituency.
Sharma along with Corporator, JMC officials and locals also toured other adjoining areas in the Ward and asked the officials to prepare the estimates for pending works in the area so that their works can also be taken up soon as possible.
Purshottam Khajuria, Vikas Bali, Mohan Singh, Anil Raina, Sudesh Sharma, Manu Bali, Jatin Gupta, Munish Raja, Ajju Singh, KB Singh, Suresh Gupta Kaka, Rajesh Slathia and several others were also present.
