JAMMU, Aug 31: Former Minister and Ex-MLA, Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) started construction works of lanes at Janipur Colony area of Ward 37 near Anandpur Kutiya. A large number of people accompanied the former MLA during his visit in the Ward including Corporator Ward 37 Sunita Gupta, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works will be constructed under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 14 lakh and the funds were sanctioned from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of former MLA which was sanctioned already and the work was delayed due to Code of Conduct and other reasons.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was long pending demand of the inhabitants of the area as some developmental works pertaining to laying of pipes were executed in the area which resulted into digging of lanes. He stated that after the works were completed there was a dire need to construct the lanes as the commuters passing through these lanes experienced lots of difficulties and keeping in view the sentiments of the public, the works had to be taken up in order to avoid public distress.
He also stated that no Ward of Jammu West is left behind in terms of development and wherever necessary, concerned departments are asked to redress public grievances at the earliest so that a proper infra and services could be provided to the public.
Sunita Gupta appreciated the efforts of Former MLA and stated that amongst all 26 wards of Jammu West, Ward 37 has the maximum number of population and crores of Rupees were spent on developmental works in the Ward on the recommendation of former MLA which improved the scenario of roads, water supply, power supply, sanitation and many other things which has helped a lot in making Ward 37 a clean Ward.
Raveesh Mengi, Sahil Gupta, Sangeeta Verma, Kulbir Singh, Vicky Sharma, Rakesh Gupta, Ramesh Bituu, Meena Jamwal, Pankaj Gupta and several others were also present.
