JAMMU, Nov 9: The chief patron of Jammu & Kashmir People’s Front, Satish Poonchi today announced that his party would contest on maximum seats in the forthcoming Assembly election in the State to deliver justice and equality among the people.
While addressing a press conference, Poonchi said that he was in the favour of delay in Assembly polls due to flood fury in the State but as elections were not necessary as compared to rehabilitation. However, the announcement of election schedule has forced us to participate in the polls and we will contest on maximum seats, he added.
Disclosing the name of candidates, who will contest from Kashmir, Poonchi said that Aijaz Ahmed Lone will contest from Beerwah constituency and Yasin Hussain Magray will be candidate of the party from Budgam Assembly constituency.
He further said that more candidates will be announced soon as the party has constituted a select committee to finalize the candidates after completing the selection process. “Our main thrust is to select youth below 50 years for contesting election who will carry on the same spirit,” he said and added that male and female will get equal share in mandate.
