NAUSHERA, Dec 1: The Indian Army in collaboration with Save Animals Value Environment’ (SAVE) Society working for animal welfare launched an anti-rabbies vaccination drive for guard dogs deployed on Army posts in Naushera, here today.
The initiative aims to ensure the health and well-being of these canine soldiers, who play a vital role in safeguarding the country’s borders.
The drive was conducted with assistance from local animal health experts, Dr Mudassir and veterinary pharmacist Ajay Kumar.
Major Munish from Saryah post near Jhangar was Incharge of the drive.
The Army has adopted more than 130 guard dogs on different border posts in Naushera.
The dogs were administered the anti-rabbies vaccine, which provides protection against the deadly rabbies virus.
This initiative is part of the army’s commitment to animal welfare and its efforts to prevent the spread of rabbies in the region.
