‘SAVE’ organizes workshops on animal rights

JAMMU, Mar 20: The Society—Save Animals Value Environment (SAVE) organized week long workshops in districts Samba and Udhampur to vaccinate stray dogs for Anti-Rabies and create awareness about animal rights and peaceful co-existence between humans and street animals.
These workshops were held in collaboration with the Society—Help in Suffering Jaipur, which is running successful ABC/ARV programme in Jaipur since 1994.
Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), District Samba and Udhampur hailed the efforts of SAVE in creating awareness about importance of neutering stray animals as well as pet animals for healthy and safe existence in the society.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib and Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta provided all possible support to make the workshop successful and SPCA volunteers worked alongside SAVE and ‘Help in Suffering’ teams, learning safe handling of dogs, their care and post-operative procedures till dogs are safely relocated to their respective areas they were picked from.
Many pet owners from far off places like Chenani, Katra, Bari Brahmna and Hiranagar bought their pets for free sterilization and Anti-Rabies vaccinations in these workshops.
Chairperson SAVE, Devinder Kaur Madaan and Dr. Sanjay Singh from ‘Help in Suffering Jaipur’ also spoke on the occasion.
