NEW DELHI, Aug 19: Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (SSCK) called on Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Defence here, today and briefed him about the recent Sharda Puja and other developments at Line of Control (LoC) Teetwal Kashmir. The delegation was led by Ravinder Pandita, head of the Committee, who presented a Sharda Shawl and portrait of Sharda Peeth Pak occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) to the Union Minister.
The Committee invited Raj Nath Singh for upcoming Sharda celebrations to be held on Sept 23 at Sharda Temple, LoC Teetwal.
The Committee requested the Minister for installing a full body scanner at Sadhna Pass, facilitate ease of travel of commuters from Kupwara to Teetwal, setting up of a vegetarian eatery at Teetwal, Tourist bus from Srinagar to Teetwal, besides various schemes of Army and public.
Rajnath Singh lauded the efforts of Civil Society initiative taken by Save Sharda Committee.
