Less rains, more use of machinery and modern life style, all have contributed to the scarcity of water in some regions in the country.
Ground water is decreasing day by day. In our State, we are lucky to have good and pure water resources. But from some years, in Kandi belt and some other places, people face water problem during summers. It is the need of the hour to use the water judiciously and save our water resources. But it is not so in our Hiranagar town. Where through some pumps, water is being wasted day and night and that too on a large scale. This over flowing water is being wasted in the drains.
I request concerned authorities to take some action to protect this valuable resource, either through check-dams or through some other methods. If not done in time, some day this green and fertile area will become a Kandi and dry place.
