JAMMU, July 22: Sawan Mahotsav-2024 began at the ancient Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir here with a captivating Bhajan Sandhya today.
The event drew devotees and music enthusiasts for an evening of spiritual ecstasy.
Located in the heart of Jammu, the Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir stands as a beacon of spiritual and cultural heritage. Its sacred atmosphere and historical importance make it a focal point for worship and cultural gatherings.
The evening began with students of the Panjvaktra Mahadev Ved Vidharthi Gurukul chanting Ganesh Vandana in traditional Vedic style, followed by the recitation of the Kaal Bhairav Ashtkam by students of Guru Pandit Ashutosh Magotra.
Performers included Mohit Sharma, Mukteshi Sharma, Pankaj Pradhan, Meenakshi Anand, Vasumana Bakshi, Madhu Rani and Krishna.
A highlight was the classical Kathak performance by Kritika Dutt and Aanandita Dutt, students of Nrityanjali under Dr Priya Dutta’s guidance. Their expressive movements brought divine stories to life, immersing the audience in a spiritual experience.
The evening’s pinnacle was a soulful recital by Dharmesh Nargotra, an internationally acclaimed singer known for his devotional music. His bhajans dedicated to Mahadev captivated the audience, filling the atmosphere with devotion and bliss.
Held from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, just after the Aarti, the event marked the beginning of the Mahotsav Series. This series aims to deepen devotees’ spiritual connection through a harmonious blend of music and dance, celebrating Jammu’s rich cultural heritage.
Suresh Kumar Sharma (Retd Sessions Judge) and receiver of Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir, noted that the Bhajan Sandhya not only provided spiritual enrichment but also showcased the temple’s commitment to fostering cultural and artistic expression.
The event was conducted by Raj Kumar Behrupia and managed by devotees.
Organizers expressed gratitude to all participants and invited everyone to join the upcoming Bhajan Sandhyas every Monday of Sawan for more evenings of spiritual ecstasy and cultural enrichment.
