Sawhney AICC observer for Dharamshalla bi-elections

JAMMU, Sept 16: Former minister and PCC general secretary, Yogesh Sawhney has been appointed as AICC ‘Observer’ for ensuing bi-elections in Dharamshalla Constituency of Himachal Pradesh.
Mr Sawhney will oversee the situation in Dharamshalla in order to prepare a report for AICC. In the report, Mr Sawhney will suggest the name of the most suitable candidate from the Congress Party to contest these upcoming elections.
Earlier this year, Sawhney had successfully completed his duty as AICC Observer in 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the Anandpur Sahib Constituency of Punjab, leading to the victory of party candidate Manish Tewari.
Assuming charge at this new duty, he will assess the position of various Congress leaders in the aforesaid constituency in order to find out the most deserving candidate. Factors like relationship with the people, capacity of the candidate to work for their welfare, the nature of popularity and chances of victory will be kept in mind, Mr Sawhney stated.
