Sawhney meets with party workers in Dharamshala

JAMMU, Sept 24: Yogesh Sawhney, former Minister of J&K and general secretary JKPCC, who was recently appointed AICC Election Observer for the Dharamshala constituency (Himachal Pradesh) for the upcoming bi-elections, today visited Dharamshala where he held meetings and interactive sessions with the public and party workers of Congress.
Sawhney is entrusted by AICC with the task of suggesting names of deserving Congress leaders for the candidature to contest these upcoming elections from the Congress party.
In discharge of his duties he, accompanied by Sudhir Sharma, secretary AICC, interacted with Congress leaders of the region. He also approached the general masses, in order to inquire about the most deserving candidate from Congress to contest the upcoming elections.
Sawhney also announced an open-house session for everyone for the next two days. “Congress believes in democracy and only democratic mechanisms and principles drive its working”, said Sawhney, while explaining the reason for the open-house.
“Every Congress member is welcome to come and present his views regarding the candidature for these bi-elections. Since the date for filing nomination papers is just around the corner, the party would announce its decision as soon as possible,” Sawhney said in a press conference addressed later in the day.
