JAMMU, Dec 12: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Yogesh Sawhney today urged the UT administration to address civic issues of Jammu East Assembly segment.
Addressing a public meeting at Khanna Chargal, in Jammu East today Congress leader projected the pressing civic issues, including the water supply scheme, Public Works Department (PWD)-related matters and other local grievances. The meeting was conducted with Chairman Rehmat Ali, DCC Member Shamim, Madan Lal, Jagdish Kumar and Brij Mohan, along with other prominent leaders, residents and stakeholders.
The participants discussed in detail the challenges faced by the area and devised strategies for their resolution. As a result of Sawhney’s preceding meeting with J&K Minister Javed Ahmed Rana, the Minister had also sent concerned officers to inspect the ground situation and support accordingly during the visit.
Ex-MLA Jammu East Sawhney emphasized the need for immediate action to ensure basic amenities for the residents. “Water scarcity and delayed PWD projects have been long-standing issues here. It is our collective responsibility to push for timely resolutions so that residents can live with quality,” Sawhney stated.
He also assured the locals of his continuous efforts to address their concerns and said that they will continue to coordinate with the authorities to expedite the pending projects and implement new projects as per local people’s need. Sawhney also highlighted his earlier meeting with the Minister of Forests, Environment, and Ecology of Jammu and Kashmir, Javed Rana, where he led a delegation from Jammu East to discuss these very issues.
Sawhney said that it is high time for a collective resolution to monitor the progress of the water supply scheme and PWD works closely. Residents need the active involvement of the leadership and we will continue to play that part to improve the ground situation in the area.
