JAMMU, Apr 5: The College Road Branch of State Bank of India, Kathua conducted a financial literacy camp at village Flote near Kathua town today.
Dr Bharat Bhushan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua inaugurated the camp which was organized under the overall supervision of K J Raina, Branch Head, State Bank of India, Kathua.
Raina welcomed the chief guest and other participants on the occasion. A large number of people from Flote, Trehara, Barnoti and Sumwan villages included Shyam Narayan Mehta, president Brick Kiln Owners’ Association, Kathua and Suraj Mehta, Ex-Sarpanch. The former Panchs, members of the Panchayati Adalats of the nearby Panchayats and Numberdars and Chowkidars were also present on the occasion.
Hemant Kumar, Assistant Branch Manager gave detailed information on the various depository and insurance schemes launched by the Govt for the welfare of the common man.
Addl DC in his address stressed the need for hundred percent financial inclusions of the people and hoped that SBI being the largest Bank of the country will take a lead in reaching out to the people.
The Branch Head assured that Bank will come up to the expectations of the people and in near future organize more such camps so that more and more people can take benefit of new schemes of the Government, especially Insurance schemes like Atal Pension Yojna, Aam Admi Bima Yojna etc. He said that SBI is always there to help the common man. Later, the Branch Head presented a memento to the chief guest.
