SBI Life Insurance sets up helpline for J&K flood victims

MUMBAI, Sept 16:
SBI Life Insurance today said it has put in place a mechanism for quick settlement of death claims, exclusively for victims of Jammu and Kashmir floods.
As part of this outreach programme, all SBI Life Insurance offices have been instructed to handle the death claim intimation sympathetically and expeditiously, the private insurer said in a release issued here.
The company has also introduced a special toll-free helpline number and a dedicated email to help relevant persons reach us effortlessly.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the victims and their families of the unprecedented flood in J&K.
“In our modest effort to mitigate the pain of the victims and their families, we have introduced a special helpline and email address to help the affected people to reach out to us in time to enable us to expedite the claims settlement process in a hassle-free manner,” SBI Life Insurance Executive Director, Operations and IT, A J Bose said.
SBI Life Insurance has shortened the list of documents required for submitting claim for speedy and settlement of claims and assistance in policy related matters.
A claim can be intimated with or without death certificates and the company will consider these claims on priority and settle them within the shortest possible time, even waiving certain other mandatory requirements on case-to- case basis, it said.
SBI Life had followed a similar procedure effectively during the Uttarakhand floods, it added. (AGENCIES)
