Srinagar, May 16: Jammu and Kashmir Saakshaar Baharat Mission (SBM) employees’ today staged a protest seeking immediate release of their pending wages while castigating Government for ‘lack of job policy against them’.
The protesters said five years ago 6000 employees were engaged to implement the Sakshaar Bharat Mission in the State on a remuneration of rupees 2000 per month. “But even this meager salary is liability to the Government from past three years which has lead us to starvation,” they said.
“Without this workforce the Government cannot achieve the ambitious 100% literacy rate which is the prime objective of their agenda. We request our Chief Minister for the early redressal of our long pending demands so that a large cause can be achieved,” the protesters added.
