SBSKU demands reinstatement of sacked employees

JAMMU, June 18: Shrine Board Safai Karamcharis Union, Katra, today demanded the Government and the management of Shrine Board to reinstate all sacked and dismissed employees of the union back into the regular services and grant them all service benefits under rules.
Addressing a press conference here today, Ghulam Ali, union president said that the union on May 23 had passed with a voice vote the charter of demands including reinstatement of sacked union leaders back into regular services.
He said their other demands included fixing of Pay scale of all Safai Karamcharis as per Central Government employees, fixation of duty hours to eight hours instead of 24 hours, making applicable SRO 43 on all employees of the union, engagement of one of the dependent of the deceased employee in the Board, providing of EPF statements and passbooks to all employees with effect from 2006 and release of arrears of all employees for the year 2005, 2006 and 2008.
He also demanded that municipal rules be removed and only central Government rules be imposed upon the employees of the Board and their benefits be granted to them. He further stressed for time bound promotion of all the employees and fixation of retirement age of employees to 60 years as per Central Government employees.
The union president urged the authorities to redress their demands within next three months failing which, he said the union will be forced to go on continuous strike at the risk and cost of the Board, which will result in harassment to the yatries.
