SC asks DD, other channels to highlight adverse effects of ‘Blue whale’ games

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday said Doordarshan and private channels, in their prime time programmes, should create awareness by telecasting the  ‘blue whale’ games health hazards and its adverse effects.

The Centre submitted  that it had set up an expert committee to look into the issue and file a report within three weeks.

A lawyer NS Ponnaih had knocked the doors of the apex court seeking a complete ban on the blue whale game.

Hearing the plea, the apex court  observed that it is a national problem and it should be properly dealt with.

The three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, also comprised Justices DY Chandrachud and AM Khanwilkar. (AGENCIES)
